I’m sharing my Tuttle Twins Book Review as an addition to our history curriculum.
I have to say I haven’t been this excited about a stack of books in a long time.
The Tuttle Twins is a set of beautiful books that use storytelling to teach about economics, civics, socialism, and entrepreneurship.
So basically everything that is NOT taught in public school.
I am learning right along with my kids as we explore how money works, what the free market really is, and what our freedom actually means.
This series could not be more timely right now.
The author Connor Boyack breaks down these complicated subjects in a way that children can understand using stories. They are experts at teaching hard subjects in a fun and engaging way.

Who are these books for?
The books are geared toward ages 5-11 but I’m using them with the whole family including my teenagers.
They do have a set of books for teens but I haven’t purchased those yet. Teenage books focus on critical thinking skills and even have stories where your teen can create a new ending.
Tuttle Twins has also developed books for toddlers focusing on number and letter recognition using thick pages for durability.
In addition to the original Tuttle Twins books, they have developed an elementary history curriculum that looks so good.
Last but not least, an economics curriculum teaches needs vs wants, taxes, inflation, supply and demand, and so much more.
Each of their products encourages deep discussions for our family about how these principles apply to our everyday life.
How can you use Tuttle Twins books?
This series by Tuttle Twins is so flexible.
We are using them as a read-aloud right now because they tie in with our American History.
Honestly, any family, homeschool or not, could use these books in their household. They bring up important concepts and discussions that are vital to critical thinking.
When you buy a set of books you get a free set of PDF workbooks along with it.
The PDF workbooks include activities such as:
- Coloring pages
- Word searches
- Writing assignments
- Crossword puzzles
- Copywork
There is also a discussion guide included for each book to help you discuss and learn about the topic being covered in each book.
You could easily make this a social studies curriculum for elementary age.
I am using them as an addition to our history curriculum as it goes together perfectly with American History.
I also think they would be perfect for a morning book basket.
If you are not a homeschooled family, these books make great reading for evening time or to use during the summer to pass the time as well.
Why you need The Tuttle Twins books
It doesn’t take long for children to become adults who are contributing to society.
The concepts in these books are vital for everyone to understand if we want to keep a healthy society and allow freedom to reign.
I want my children to grow up understanding concepts like the free market, taxes, how the law works, and the ability to create income for themselves.
These books create a healthy understanding of economics and civics in a way that just isn’t taught anymore.
I don’t know about you but I never learned any of these topics when I was in school.
Even the idea of being an entrepreneur and learning how to create my own income was a taboo topic in my family.
Don’t let socialism slip into your children’s minds and begin to grow like a weed.
In my opinion, these books are a must-have for every family.
Grab a set of Tuttle Twins books and help your children understand how the world works.

My 4 daughters, husband, and I also love The Tuttle Twins books and show! We have all learned so much from them.
