I’m so excited to share our experience with SimplyCoding using the Coding for Kids Annual Membership.
It is an interactive space and online curriculum for students to learn a variety of skills such as Minecraft mods and Javascript.
These online self paced courses are perfect for kids (or even adults) to jump right in and start learning and using coding.
SimplyCoding includes recorded and LIVE classes with assistance from an instructor.
You can live chat with an actual instructor and enter contests for your creations or just take the pre-recorded classes.
Here are just a few of the classes that they offer!
- JavaScript Game Design
- Into into Websites
- Minecraft Mods in Java
- Digital Photography
- Adobe Illustrator
- Microsoft Excel
- Blogging 4Kids
- Create Your Own Youtube Channel
Their classes are perfect for any child who is into gaming and you want to launch them into a tech career.
It’s geared toward kids ages 6-18 but I had fun using some of the classes!
Simply Coding Review
Our experience with SimplyCoding was wonderful.
They really offer something for everyone, including myself.
My son enjoyed the Minecraft Mod and Javascript classes.
He got a taste of what is involved in designing an aspect of a game using code and he was able to actually use his creation!
Javascript was taught in a natural way where you are using it while you are creating.

Every step and direction he had to follow was detailed and clear. There were even small quizzes after the lessons to make sure he was on track.
There are even app-building classes and game competitions that pay money for kids to take part in.
I used some of the photography and Lightroom classes for myself.
All of the instructions and videos were easy to follow and the platform is user friendly.
We had trouble deciding what class to start with first because there were so many good choices.

Who is SimplyCoding for?
This program would be a good fit for any student interested in tech or computer science, including things like photography or graphic design.
It is an in-depth program with detailed and interactive classes.
It fit easily into our homeschool and you can work at your own pace unless you want to hop on with a live instructor.
There is an ANNUAL membership with a 10-day free trial so you can see if it’s a good fit for your family.
