Homeschooling doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Many families pick what to buy and what subjects to use for free to help with the cost.

Other families run entirely on free curriculum because it’s absolutely possible to homeschool for free.

I’ve gathered totally free homeschooling curriculum you can use for your family for so many grades.

Some of the free homeschool curriculum isn’t as open and go as curriculum with laid out lesson plans but with a little leg work, you can make any material open and go.

List of Free Homeschool Curriculum

Free curriculum with multiple subjects

These resources are multi-subject and will not be repeated in the individual subject sections.

Easy Peasy Homeschool is a completely free curriculum for all subjects in grades K-12. I think it’s quite rigorous and well-organized. You can use this for a single subject or for all subjects. Online and printouts are included if you don’t want a curriculum that’s 100 percent online.

PlainandNotSoPlain has a free curriculum for most grades and subjects. All you need is a printer and a computer to access it.

Guest Hollow offers free homeschool curriculum for almost every grade and subject. They are well known for their history curriculums and printables.

AmblesideOnline offers full Charlotte Mason Style curriculum completely free for every grade and subject. It includes full schedules, print-offs, online books, and copy work. Many families use this curriculum and it even comes with multiple schedules to fit your needs.

CK-12 has excellent science and math curriculum for free for a variety of grades.

Old Fashioned Homeschool offers quite a few online books and worksheets along with a schedule.

MobyMax offers free and paid curriculum material for most grades.

Khan Academy has excellent videos on math, science, computing, and history in a lesson format with review questions. They are always adding new classes and expanding so don’t forget to check back with them.

Teachers Pay Teachers offers tons of free curriculum for multiple grades and subjects.

CoreKowledge offers free curriculum for almost all grades that you can print off.

Freedom Homeschool has a ton of free resources for every subject and grade. A great resource for electives as well.

Under the Home offers free curriculum for elementary grades and some middle school for each subject.

Varsity Tutors offers a variety of free online classes taught by experts for multiple grades.

Free Language Arts Curriculum

The Good and the Beautiful offers free language arts curriculum for levels 1-4. It’s a very comprehensive language arts program. We’ve used a few years with them and enjoyed what they have to offer.

McGraw Hill Language Arts has entire workbooks free to download for grades 1-6.

Daily Grammar has an archive full of grammar lessons you can do right online.

Progressive Phonics is a completely free phonics curriculum with readers and handwriting.

Handwriting Worksheet Maker allows you to create any handwriting sheet you need quickly and easily.

Free Math Curriculum

XtraMath has practice on math facts with schedules and lessons.

Learn with Math Games has fun math practice for most grades.

Nicole the Math Lady has tons of free math videos online.

Ray’s Arithmetic has vintage math books available for download for every level.

Khan Academy which I have mentioned has full math curriculum for every grade.

Free Science Curriculum

McGraw Hill Science has workbooks grades 1-6 available for download.

Handbook of Nature Study available for free download to teach and notebook nature.

Mystery Science offers a free year to first-time visitors.

Crash Course Science Videos offer engaging lessons for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Free History Curriculum

Digital History offers completely online history lessons in textbook form.

Crash Course is well known for its history videos.

McGraw Hill Social Studies has downloadable workbooks for grades 1-6.

Heritage History has a large library of online material and books for download.

Georgia Virtual Learning has grades 6-12 history lessons and multiple other subjects.

Free Bible Curriculum

Answers in Genesis has many free ebooks, videos, and resources focused on Genesis and creation.

The Bible Project is one of my personal favorites. Animated videos cover the entire bible by chapter or topic and are easy to understand. You could easily make a full Bible curriculum out of the videos by adding in Bible reading.

Easy Peasy All-in-One has a Bible curriculum for many ages including high school.

Other Free Resources

Art Projects for Kids offers art lessons and crafts with step-by-step instructions and printables.

Harmony Fine Arts has many free art lessons and downloads.

Kinder Art has many art lessons with a variety of medium and step by step instructions.

Code.org educates people of all ages on coding and computing from beginner to advanced.

Scratch lets you create stories, programs, and games that are endless.

Typing is a completely free way to learn how to type for all ages.

Build Your Future teaches banking, personal finance, success, and investing. For grades 9-12.

I’ve just scratched the surface with the best list of free homeschool curriculum.

Don’t forget to utilize your local community for co-ops, field trips, and free library programs.

It’s pretty to use Google Classroom to gather resources and youtube videos together and create your own lessons on almost any topic.

K-3rd grade can be homeschooled for free using library books and nature.
