Our homeschool family is full of teens at the moment and I’m sharing our Aceable Drivers Ed Reviews.

Aceable is an online driving school that offers a variety of driving courses such as Adult Drivers Ed, Drug, and Alcohol Courses, Defensive Driving and Parent Taught Drivers Ed.

Since we are in the beautiful state of Texas, I used the Texas Parent Taught Drivers Ed Course.

This course is certified in the state of Texas and we had no trouble with any of the paperwork at the Department of Public Safety.

You can actually start Aceable completely free and just purchase when you are ready. It’s a great way to try out the program.

An overview of Aceable Drivers Ed

Since each state has slightly different requirements, Aceable does a fabulous job of letting you know what your state needs.

The written driver’s test

Once you purchase Aceable, you are given detailed instructions on how to prepare for the written driver’s test.

An online practice test will make sure your child knows the material before you make an appointment at DPS.

Your child can take the written test right in the course and just bring the final results to DPS.

All the required paperwork is printable along with a checklist of what you need to bring for your child.

I printed out the forms, filled them out, and used the checklist to bring the other forms of identification such as birth certificate and others.

The Parent Taught Driving Lessons

After you obtain your learners permit from your state you can complete the remainder of the driving course.

It walks the student driver through everything they need to know in the online computer lessons and has a detailed list of their driving needs as well.

It requires 44 hours of driving on the road lessons to complete the course.

It’s broken down into categories like nighttime driving, interstate driving, parking, roundabouts, and different driving experiences.

The worksheet made it easy for me to fill in the driving hours we were working on together.

Once you complete the driving lessons section both online and in your car, you can take the test at your local DPS with all the required paperwork provided by Aceable.

What I love about Aceable Drivers Ed

I love so much about this driving course!

All of the instructions for parents and students are very clear. They tell you exactly what to bring to the DPS office and how to fill out the forms.

Inside the course is a wealth of extra videos, checklists, and practice tests.

It teaches defensive driving very well not just how to drive.

Your child can use it on their own schedule since it’s an online course.

It’s extremely affordable for families that have multiple children.

They have help available to answer any questions you have 7 days a week via email, chat, or phone call.

Cons of Aceable Drivers Ed

You can log in as a parent or a student and it took me a few minutes to log-in correctly on the app. I see they are making adjustments and have announced an update.

If your child is very outgoing an online course won’t give them any social opportunities, although there are so many other activities you can get your teen involved in.

The parent taught edition is not available in every state yet but that’s not the fault of Aceable but of state regulations.

Final conclusion

Overall we loved using Aceable Drivers Ed as a family and I highly recommend it to your teens.

All of the instructions and paperwork are very clear cut and easy to understand and I’m happy with our experience with the Texas Parent Taught Drivers Ed Course.

Thanks for sharing!
