What are the best family calendar and organizing apps for moms?
I started digging into organizing apps when I got tired of my mom brain forgetting everything and our house being covered in post-it notes.
I needed a way to keep track of everything we had to do both inside and outside the home, plus a place to put grocery lists, and to-do lists!
A paper planner works, but I always had to walk over to it and sometimes I wasn’t home and needed to remember things.
Something I always have with me is my phone, so it makes sense to use it for organization.
Finally, I found some amazing apps that will help organize my family life and free up some time in my day.
Best Family Calendar and Organizing Apps
The Cozi App
You can organize your entire family right on this one app.
Here are just a few things the Cozi app can do:
- Family calendar for every device in your home
- Reminders right on your phone
- Shopping Lists (add ingredients hands-free)
- Create checklists for anything
- Meal planner and recipe box
- Import recipes to the app
It really is the only family planning and organization app you will need.

I love how it syncs to all our devices so my teenagers can see the calendar and meal plan.
Reminders can be set for 5 minutes before up to 2 weeks in advance which makes it nice to organize cleaning schedules.
You can even create a recipe bank to pull from when you are meal planning.
The Cozi website has list templates already made that you can add right to your app such as FlyLady Cleaning List Zones…amazing!
You can start organizing your family and try the Cozi App for free.
Trello
Trello is like endless post-it notes that you can add links, photos, to-do lists, reminders, and due dates too.
You can drag and drop them all around on your calendar, share with your family or even a business to keep track of due dates, brain storm ideas, or just things you need at the store.
The uses for Trello are endless since it’s so versatile.
You can also grab someone else’s amazing schedule, planner, or template and use it for yourself!
Trello is a great app for getting your family organized.
Google Calendar
Most people are familiar with Google Calendar but my favorite feature is how it can sync with each member of my family.
My husband and teenagers can pull up our family calendar and even add events to it so I can keep track of everyone’s schedule.
It’s simple and free to use for everyone with a Google account.

Google Keeps
When I was using Google Calendar I also added Google Keeps to my phone so I could keep track of shopping lists and things I needed to remember.
This app is like having post it notes right on your phone that you can drag around and edit.
Google Calendar and Keeps can merge on a computer but not on a phone so you will need the separate apps.
TimeTree
This app is similar to Google Calendar but what makes it unique is the ability to create a chat room for each event.
Each event on your calendar allows you to chat with other family members and keep notes or to do lists right inside.
You can send comments and images for an event through multiple devices.
It has the ability to create multiple calendars so you can use it for work and family at the same time.
In my opinion, it’s like Google Calendar and Keep merged together with a few extra features.
Check out TimeTree and see if it’s a good fit for your family.
Calendar and Organizing Apps for Your Family
In my opinion, the Cozi app is an all in one app that does everything from meal planning to creating calendars and reminders so it seems perfect for homeschooling families.
It also can sync with a Google Calendar if your husband uses Google for his work.
If you don’t need the meal planning and recipe bank, you could easily use Google Calendar or TimeTree for your family.
