Wondering if CTC Math curriculum would be a good fit for your family?
I’m sharing our personal experience using CTC Math and how it’s working for us.
Math has always been a sore spot in our homeschool. I’m not a math person so to speak and as the kids got older, it was harder and harder for me to properly explain the lessons.
My kids also don’t want a frustrated math teacher.
CTC Math has taken the pressure off of my bad math teaching and given the kids an easier way to learn.
CTC Math Curriculum Review
CTC Math is a full math curriculum for grades K-12. From Kindergarten through Calculus, each year is filled with video lessons, online questions, and worksheets.
It allows your child to work at their own pace and not get rushed ahead into lessons they don’t yet understand.
A smart choice for children who need to master areas of math before learning something new.
One of the benefits of using an online math curriculum is being able to rewind the teacher and re-listen or see an example many times over.
This curriculum ensures there are no “holes” in their math learning through the years.
This math curriculum has really taken the stress out of math for both myself and my children.
Here are a few things I love about CTC Math!
Short Video Math Lessons
The math videos are always short and to the point which is great for kids with short attention spans.
Immediately after the short video, there are practice questions and sometimes a worksheet to reinforce the video lesson.
They also provide a PDF of each lesson right under the video for reference as well.
Your Child Can Change Levels or Grades
When you make a profile for your child, you get to choose where they start.
If you decide they need to move up a few lessons or even an entire grade, you can do that at any time.
You are not locked into a certain level or grade and can change and adjust as you see fit.
You could even jump around if there are certain topics your child needs to work on or be tutored in.
Assigning Tasks for Review
I can go in the back end and assign additional tasks or lessons I think my kids need to work on.
It’s great for helping them review weak areas once a week or as you see fit.
Grading and Progress Reports
I can easily see all of the grades and bring up reports for each of my children. It allows me to see how many times they attempted a lesson.
That way I can find their weak areas and jump in to help where I am needed.
Because each question is graded as the child enters in the answer, they can immediately see where they went wrong and correct it.
This method keeps them from doing an entire set of questions the wrong way.
Fun Speed Drills
CTC Math offers video game-like speed drills for reinforcing those basic math skills.
This can make it easier for younger kids to memorize the foundational facts.
There is also a space-themed game for practicing multiplication and some fun puzzle games.
Math Worksheets Using Paper and Pencil
The CTC Math worksheets have to be my favorite aspect of this online curriculum.
Yes, the lessons are online but there is an opportunity for paper and pencil math which I think is so important.
Most lessons have a worksheet that you can see on the screen. The students do the math problems on paper and enter the answers into the computer to be graded.
That way they are still getting those paper and pencil skills but the computer is still grading their answers for you. It’s the best of both worlds for us.
The worksheets are totally optional so you can use them as often as you like.
You could use just the online questions, the worksheet questions, or both for this curriculum. Whatever suits your family’s needs the best.

CTC Math Curriculum Review
We chose the homeschool families option when signing up for CTC math which allows me to make separate accounts for each of my children.
I can easily look at all of their progress and grades from one screen, assign tasks, or peak at their lessons from the parent area.
It’s extremely economical for me to pay a flat fee for the whole family to use.
They have a free trial if you want to see how your kids enjoy the short video lessons.
I’ve been extremely pleased with the math lessons and will continue to use them in our homeschool for the foreseeable future.
